About JPS Law, PLLC

JPS Law is a criminal defense practice serving all 120 Kentucky counties. It's a husband-wife practice that both naturally and by design is family-centric. We understand that criminal charges, license suspensions, bond money, and the stress of navigating the criminal justice system affect an entire family. Our practice mirrors that. You'll work with both John and Tara throughout your case. By hiring JPS Law - you already have a team dedicated specifically to your case.

John is also of-counsel at Carman Fullerton, PLLC in downtown Lexington. John's law partners have years of experience in personal injury, bankruptcy, criminal defense, business, estates, immigration and family law. They are some of the most recognized lawyers in Kentucky. This means that John is surrounded by attorneys who have experience with virtually every nuance of the law. When you hire JPS Law, you'll have an entire team of lawyers at your disposal - for whatever life throws your way.

John Sienkiewicz

John Sienkiewicz (sink-uh-witz) struck out on his own during the Kentucky hemp boom. He focuses his practice on criminal defense, traffic and CDL issues, civil litigation, and is specifically interested in hemp, marijuana, and the legalization (and taxation) of cannabis and what it can do for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Previously, John worked for a creditors rights firm out of Cincinnati and has experience with high volume civil litigation in foreclosure, student loan, debt collection, and commercial loans.

John is licensed to practice law in all Kentucky courts, and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.  John is a member of the Kentucky and Fayette County Bar Associations. He received a Juris Doctorate from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where he achieved the CALI Book Award (highest grade) in several of his courses.

John graduated from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor with a Bachelor of Arts and is a native of Troy, Michigan. He is a college sports enthusiast who eats, lives, and breathes all things University of Michigan. He cherishes life with his wife and two children. He is a soccer dad and member of Cathedral of Christ the King. When he's not in the office, you can find him on the water, on the golf course, or with his neighbors.

Tara Sienkiewicz

Tara Poe Sienkiewicz (sink-uh-witz) is a native of both Paris and Lexington, KY. She graduated from Centre College with a Bachelor of Arts in Government, and a minor in Psychology. She attended law school at Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where she met her classmate and eventual husband – John.

Tara is passionate about expungement, post-conviction life, and restoration of gun and civil rights. Like John, she is a proponent of the hemp industry in Kentucky and laying the groundwork for decriminalization and legalization of marijuana - specifically what cannabis can do for revenue in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Tara is the mother of two children, two cats, a dog, and (hopefully) a multi-family real estate empire. She is the fundraising chair of the Cassidy Elementary PTA, homeroom mom, Lexington Futbol Club (LFC) volunteer, and member of Cathedral of Christ the King. When she isn’t cooking, she enjoys planting trees and traveling.
